I've been using PowerArchiver 2006 for a few years now and I'm very impressed with its features. It's a great tool for optimizing data storage and transfer, allowing me to work with archives in various formats and to generate new containers, modify, remove, or otherwise alter the existing ones. It also allows me to easily change the compression of the items, and otherwise control the data. The interface is easy to use and the overall performance is great. Highly recommended!

PowerArchiver 2006 is an archiving utility for Windows. There are many archiving applications in the market. You might think about WinRAR or WinZIP, even 7-ZIP. Those are all great and are the most popular. PowerArchiver is another application that does the same. It claims to get better compression ratios than the competition, but the amount of data that can be compressed nowadays is so small that you can't force compression anymore. This application really benefits from a great, modern-looking graphical user interface. It is so much easier to add and extract files from within the application thanks to it. All you need to do, you can do with three simple buttons. PowerArchiver 2006 supports most compression file formats, such as RAR, ZIP, TAR, etc. The application also has its own command line, which allows you to do anything the application can do, but from the command line, which is great for use in servers. Great encryption security and a great shell integration make of PowerArchiver a great competitor in the race for the best archiver.
